— SUMMARY

A single player nonlinear 3d racing game in which a freshly hatched lizard strives to reach the safety of its elders. Players must keep moving to build up energy used to evolve and attain the abilities needed to reach new areas of the open world. With dangerous snakes, venomous spiders and spiky hedgehogs around every corner, focus and quick reflexes are key to success.

Building Leap was part of my study at the HKU and the game was highly popular on the show floor at the end of the quarter. It was the highest rated game by teachers as well as the winner of the public’s choice prize. Leap is still occasionally displayed at HKU open days as a demonstration of a successful student project.

— TASKS

Started the project, creating its vision and pitching it to gather teammembers.

Managed the team by organising meetings, taking notes, managing our calender and defining tasks for all members in 1-week sprints.

Supervised the game's design and upheld the project's vision.

Developed the game in Unity and C#.

Coding a Lizard

I've done all the programming for Leap's gameplay, including its character controller. Movement, the camera behaviour and the transformation systems have been split up into independant components to speed up development at a stage where mechanics were still heavily subject to change.
